How to add sub-domain, addon domain
Written by MD Abu Bakkar

In cPanel version 100, the terms “Addon Domains,” “Aliases,” and “Subdomains” were considered outdated and were no longer supported. In version 106, these terms were completely removed.

The Latest Jupiter theme has replaced the old Paper Lantern theme in cPanel and comes with many updates and improvements. One of these changes is that the options for Add-on Domains and Sub Domains are now combined under a new “Domains” option. This makes it simpler to handle all your domains in one location.

Adding a new domain in the Jupiter theme of cPanel is easy and can be done by following a few simple steps.

After you log in to your cPanel account, go to the “Domains” section.

In this part, you’ll see a blue button in the top right corner that says “Create A New Domain.” Just click on that button to start adding your new addon domain, sub-domain, or alias/parked domain.

Adding an Addon Domain:

Step 1. To add an Addon domain in the Jupiter cPanel theme, you need to type the domain name in the “Domain” text box.

Step 2. Make sure to deselect the option that says “Share document root (/home/username/public_html) with ‘domain.tld’.” This ensures that the files for this domain are not saved in the same place as your other domains.

Step 3. Then, you have to choose the folder where you want to store the files for this domain.

Step 2. Make sure to uncheck the option that says, “Share document root (/home/username/public_html) with ‘domain.tld’.” This ensures that the files for this subdomain are not saved in the same place as your other domains.

Step 3. You should also provide the name of the folder where the files for this subdomain will be stored.

Adding a Parked Domain/Alias Domain:

A parked domain, also called an alias domain, lets you link another domain name to your main domain.

Step 1. To add a new alias domain in the Jupiter cPanel theme, type the domain name you want to use as an alias in the “Domain” text box.

Step 2. It’s important to make sure that the option “Share document root (/home/username/public_html) with ‘domain.tld’” is selected. This connects the alias domain to the main domain’s file location.
